The 2010 NCAA March Madness Archive

In basketball blogging, march madness on February 14, 2011 at 9:46 pm

This blog represents my attempt to cover the 2010 NCAA March Madness. It was a great year, made exciting by the phenomenal play of several “Cinderellas” – the most prominent of these being the Butler Bulldogs, finalists in an epic coming out party in their hometown .

I hope you will peruse the entirety of Yesterday’s Hoops for a comprehensive flashback of the 2010 Tournament.

Thanks to all of the thousands of followers for a great experience.

Reviewing Our NBA Predictions Midway

In predictions on February 10, 2010 at 2:25 pm

Before each season we make:

YH’s Preseason NBA Remarks [2009]

which is a sort of a predictions list. Let’s see how our view is holding up at the midway point this year:

1. Nobody’s winning 70 games and anybody who suggested it’s wack.

TOLD YA!

2. Orlando management from January when Nelson went down has been brill: Pick up, then dump Tyronn Lue and Rafer Alston; Andersen/Bass replace Turkoglu; Carter’s eye-candy. Magic are in East Final.

I’M STICKING BY IT.  OH, AND VCs 48 POINTS THE OTHER NIGHT?    TOLD YA!

3. Lakers are in the Western Conference Final with either San Antonio or Dallas

SPURS LOOKING WEAKER AND NUGGETS LOOKING STRONGER.

4. Cavs can’t beat Boston or Orlando in seven games.

I UNDERESTIMATED LEBRON AND SHAQ – THEY CAN PROBABLY BEAT THE CELTICS – BUT MIKE BROWN CAN’T WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP – NO WAY.

5. Josh Smith and Atlanta are sleepers.

TOLD YA!

6. Don Nelson will become Winningest Coach in NBA history, January 26, 2010, Golden State vs. Sacramento at SAC

THIS ONE ISN’T MY FAULT                      IT’S CHRIS COHAN’S!

7. 35 … 38 or even 40 boards in a game!

I’M STICKING TO THIS –                       LATE SEASON, AGAINST THE NETS!

8. a quadruple-double, possibly two in a season for 1st time

I LIKE MY MAIN MAN J-SMOOVE TO BE THE ONE TO PULL THIS OFF, BUT LEBRON, NASH, HOWARD, CP3 AND A HANDFUL OF OTHERS MIGHT STILL PROVE ME RIGHT.

9. it’s going to be an awesome year

TOLD YA!

Hope you will join us here at Yesterday’s Hoops for the stretch run in college and professional basketball!
